The Fabulous Mr. Jacobs has whipped up another cocktail of bold colors, off-the-shoulder blouses with puffy sleeves and flouncy skirts.  The highlight for me were the matching fabric orchids!!!! This collection is like a refreshing tropical breeze, reminding me of island vacations.

Creating a harmonious blend of nature, history and modernism, her work remains the revival of ancient hand printing and needle work techniques. ‘Anupamaa’ is available at Bombay electric, Melange, Ensemble, Evoluzione, Chamomile and Amethyst, also in several luxury stores of Europe, Asia, Australia, South America and the Middle East. Bibhu Mahoptra-Spring 2011 MBNY Fashion Week

                   

Born in India, Bibbhu Mohapatra attended the Fashion Institute of Technology in 1996. He graduated with the prestigious Critic's Award for Best Evening Wear Designer of the Year.  Bibhu was an assistant designer at Halston.  In 1999, Giles Mendel, hired Bibhu to help realize his vision for a youthful ready-to-wear.  Bibhu resigned from J. Mendel in order to establish his own label. Since then, he has continued to create custom couture evening gowns, cocktail dresses and furs for a select group of private client in New York, Europe and India.
